A FISHERMAN has used his hobby to secure a new career in the water industry.
Jim Taylor, from Redcar, is in his second year working as a water bailiff, after receiving help from Job Centre Plus.
Mr Taylor, 61, retired due to ill health after nearly 26 years at Boulby potash mine. But after three years on incapacity benefit, he decided to return to work.
He was given advice by Broker North-East, part of the Job Centre Plus network, which helps people with health problems or disabilities to get back into work.
Now he is water bailiff at Southfield Farm, Dishforth, North Yorkshire.
Mr Taylor said: "It can be hard work sometimes, but I've found it so rewarding. My health has actually improved and I feel so much stronger in myself."
