Nigel
Burton
Nigel Burton has been car mad ever since his parents bought him
a "Hot Wheels" set when he was four years old.
His first car was a perfectly preserved Austin Allegro which did
sterling service before a blind driver reversed into it, crumpling
the bonnet. Ever the wheeler dealer, Nigel bought the car back from
his insurers had it repaired and sold it to his mother.
The money was used to buy a Ford Capri (yes, a Capri) 1.6GL which
later gave way to a Capri 2.0 S and, in a strange moment of weakness,
a Nissan Bluebird (boring but reliable).
The 35-year-old has been testing cars for ten years. During that
time he has driven everything from a Smart two-seater to a Lamborghini
Diabolo. He has tested more than 500 different vehicles.
An award-winning journalist, Nigel is an accredited advanced driver.
He has also dabbled with motor-racing and rally driving.
A motorcycle nut, Nigel has owned a bike since he was 16 years
old. His current machine is a Suzuki Katana in-line four.
Forever trapped in a 1970s timewarp, Nigel recently purchased
yet another Ford Capri!
