A POTTER has been selected to exhibit his work at one of Europe's biggest ceramic festivals.
Eddie Curtis, from Wearhead, County Durham, will showcase his work at Earth and Fire, the annual international ceramics festival, next month.
Mr Curtis runs a workshop with his wife, Margaret, and produces items made from porcelain, mainly in red and copper colours.
He said: "We are committed to creating work that is connected with the material it is made from and celebrates the process of its making.
"The firing has become an integral and important part of that process.
"Using an oil-fired kiln allows us to work with fire, a fundamental force of nature, introducing a welcome degree of unpredictability. When the results are good we feel that the partnership has been successful."
He has shown his pots in exhibitions and festivals both in the UK and internationally.
Earth and Fire is in its 12th year and will take place on June 24 and June 25, from 9am until 5.30pm, at Rufford Country Park, Nottinghamshire.
