AN artist fascinated with the profiles of human skin is showcasing her work in the North-East.
Images of skin as it has never been seen before are on show at Billingham Art Gallery, on Teesside.
Artist Kathryn Wakeman has a fascination with the contours found in human skin scrutinising it for interesting natural marks, scars and tattoos.
She then paints them on large canvasses, but does not tell the viewer what part of the body it is.
The exhibition, Natural Rhythms?, also includes work by photographer Carol Alevroyianni, which, like the skin paintings, show different angles of flowers, pebbles and skies.
The exhibition runs until May 20, Mondays to Saturdays, from 9am to 5pm, at the gallery in Queensway, Billingham. Admission is free.
