Plough is reshaped as vulture sculpture

by Hannah Chapman

A PROFESSIONAL sculptor has shown off his latest work made from old farm machinery.

The artwork by Harvey Parker, of Grewelthorpe, near Masham, North Yorkshire, is a caricature of a lappet-faced vulture.

The piece was produced for a farmer in Pickhill, near Thirsk, from old parts of a plough.

Mr Parker, 44, said: "I get such a buzz working in my workshop and then selling the piece - it's the best feeling in the world.

"I always use recycled metal, as recycling is something I have a passion for."

The artist trained in York and Newcastle, before going self-employed. He regularly works with youth organisations across North Yorkshire.
