AN exhibition of some of the world's best wood engravings is coming to the North-East this week.

The Society of Wood Engravers is bringing its 68th annual exhibition to Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery, in the city.

The 120 engravings and relief prints that will be on show were selected to illustrate modern and traditional skills.

The engravings show a range of subjects and techniques from artists across the world, including, Japan, Ukraine, France, Holland, Poland, Italy, Brazil, Canada and the US.

The exhibition will be from Saturday until Sunday, January 15.
