More may need to be done to protect human health and the environment from the effects of last year's foot-and-mouth burial sites, the Government admitted last night. Junior minister Lord Whitty said all sites would be ranked by risk.
Villagers in Tow Law, County Durham, maintained at the time of the epidemic that the dumping of 45,000 carcasses at the Inkerman site had affected their health.
