A public inquiry begins tomorrow into the foot-and-mouth crisis in the county worst affected by last year's devastating outbreak.
One of the first to give evidence at the hearing in Kendal will be Brigadier Alex Birtwhistle, the soldier brought in to clear the backlog of dead animals and carry out a preventative cull.
