THE RICHARD NEALE SCANDAL
Disgraced former gynaecologist Richard Neale was struck off the medical register in July 2000.
The surgeon, who worked at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, North Yorkshire between 1985 and 1995, had faced the disciplinary committee of the General Medical Council.
Mr Neale, 52,of Boroughbridge had 34 out of 35 allegations of serious professional misconduct against him found proven.
Since then there have been calls for a public inquiry and some of his former patients are taking legal action.
