ANDERSON Thomas Alfred (Tommy) aged 90 years, passed away peacefully on September 7 in Grahamstown South Africa. Dearest dad of Carole and Hugh, Susan and Gavin and grandpops of Karen, Deborah, James and Simon. Lovingly remembered by family and friends.
ARKWRIGHT Frank September 19, at Middle ton St George, aged 73 years. Died peacefully after a long illness, loving husband of Rachel, father of Lesley, Caroline and Michael, devoted granda of five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Constance, aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Reverend Arthur Cave and dear mother of Jeremy and Andrew. COATES Norman Ernest, born in Colchester of a military family on June 22, 1924. Joined the Royal Corps of Signals in 1941 and volunteered for special duties. Served in Burma as a Chindit and was subsequently commissioned for action in the field. He died with courage and fortitude in Sedgefield Community Hospital on September 18 and is remembered with love and regards by his family and friends. Many thanks for the kindness and attention received from his many nurses and carers. Funeral service to take place at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, September 27 at 12.00 noon. COLDICOTT Vera of Tunstall, died peacefully in hospital on September 23, aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late Cyril, loving and devoted mum of Annette and Valerie, a dear mother-in-law of David, loving and devoted nan of Stuart, Anthony and Michelle and great-nan of Nathan and Amy, a dear sister and loving aunt, also a dear friend to many. KIRBY (formerly Green) On Wednesday September 19. It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce the demise of Lily Kirby (formerly Green), aged 88 years, of Homebryth House, Sedgefield. She was the beloved mother of twins Keith and Stella and mother-in-law to Sonia, she was also Lily Nana and great-nana to Fiona and Gaenor, Frances and Geoffery. James, Cara Beth, Amy, Christopher, Holly, Thomas, Katie and Maddy. Lily lived her life to the full with huge verve and enjoyment. The next adventure was just around the corner.
