Lindy
Metheringham
I am originally
from South Wales and moved to Liverpool to study applied biochemistry.
When I qualified
I worked in the health service in Liverpool.
Then I moved
to the North East with my husband, by which time I was already involved
in charity work with animals and decided to redirect my career in
this direction.
I qualified
in Animal Behaviour two years after our move.
Though I still
do voluntary work I now practice as a Pet Behaviour Consultant.
I travel as
far as Newcastle to the north and York to the south. I visit clients
in their homes and would say I have an eighty percent success rate.
I specialise
in dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and ferrets.
Though being
a Fellow of the Institute of Pet Behaviour Consultants I can redirect
people with problem horses, parrots etc. to an appropriate consultant
in that area. I have recently compiled a course on rabbit behaviour.
I am a volunteer
for the Pet Bereavement Support Service which is linked with the
Blue Cross. I am also a member of Pet Search which aims to reunite
owners with lost pets, even if it is only giving advice or comfort
there is someone there to talk to.
My qualifications
include - BSc (Hons), MSc. CPSM, MSCAS, MIACE, FIPBC, DipAB. DipPBC.
