Northallerton want to put on a show for their fans

Northallerton are hoping last week's victory will inspire them further when they take on Darlington RA on home soil this afternoon.

Ian Gill's side have chalked up just two wins, both at opponents' grounds and secretary Ian Morton would like to see the hat-trick completed in front of their own supporters.

He said: "Our two victories came at Redcar and at Billingham Synthonia.

"Last week's success was important as the result put some light between ourselves and other teams at the bottom of the table, but it is important we maintain the momentum and what better place than at Northallerton?"

A boost to their chances is the return of Doug Mulholland, who has played only three games out of 11.

"He is at college and has been a big miss - he scored more than 500 runs and took 30 wickets last season, " said Morton who added that Richard Bentley also plays today.

John Sample and Andrew Fishburn leave the side, while Darlington RA are pleased to have captain Phil Crowther back.

The Brinkburn Road club have decided to retain Ashar Zaidi, who was originally brought in as a temporary replacement for Reetinder Sodhi.

Leaders Saltburn meet sixthplaced Darlington at Feethams stronger with the inclusion of Paul Ramage, who scored a century on his last outing.

Victory could take Darlington into the top three but they will find the going tough against the Seasiders, who will not easily relinquish pole position after missing out on the title in recent seasons. Darlington bring in Philip Buxton for Colin Biglin.

Guisborough, four times champions, are 16 points off the top ahead of their game with Hartlepool at Park Drive. David Towse, the most economical bowler and prolific wicket-taker in the league for some years is included.

Richard Dunn takes over as captain and Ryan Murray joins his brothers Graham and Chris in the line-up.

Pools name a strong side led by Michael Gough. Danny Shurmer, Ian Palmer and the experienced Ashley Day all play.

The bottom pair, Richmondshire and Billingham Synthonia, are in opposition. The home team show three alterations with Andy Fleming, Clinton Jacobs and Ben Biker all back with Jamie Stead, Mike Layfield and Dave Mathias excluded.

Keith Martin, who has missed recent games, resumes for Synners and so too does Mark Bartley but Dave Fairley and John Steel cannot play.

Third-top Normanby Hall are forced into changing their line-up for the home game with Redcar since David Austin and Neil Pearson are unavailable and Javed Ramzan injured.

Middlesbrough are fourth from the basement before they host fourth-from-top Bishop Auckland at Acklam Park.

Martin Ball and Brett Roberts resume but James Beaumont cannot turn out and Raf Rashid is named in the second XI.

Great Ayton play Marske for the second successive week and if there is a repeat of last week's high-scoring contest, supporters will not be disappointed. Ayton overtook the target of 249 with four wickets but with little more than an over in hand.

Bilal Rasool comes into the side to the exclusion of John Russell and Marske name Jon Nichols, who will line up alongside his brother, Chris. Wicket-keeper Steve Larkin also plays with Ben Walker and Michael Walton leaving the side.
